Marinas

Ariadne has developed an extensive portfolio of marina assets in the strategic waterfront locations of Southport, Brisbane’s trade coast precinct) and Port Macquarie.  The division is currently in due diligence to purchase further Marina assets across both Queensland and New South Wales which will provide it with significant Marina asset holdings along the East Coast of Australia.

To support and grow the company’s Marina operations, Ariadne has created a dedicated in-house Marina acquisitions, development and operations team. The team’s operational responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the retail, berthing and fuel businesses, while its development activities have been successful in adding significant value to existing marina assets and infrastructure.  The team has been successful in making significant operational and customer service improvements which has generated a steady pattern of underlying earnings growth.

Ariadne has strong links and support networks within boating communities and maritime service providers, and understands the requirements of these specialist industry groups. Ariadne’s reputation among marine industry participants has resulted in building a fuel sales volume among the highest on the east Coast of Australia, berthing waiting lists that are consistently above available capacities and strong demand for its commercial and leasing facilities. In all of its activities Ariadne maintains close ties to key stakeholders, including commercial marine industries, tourism and leisure operators, aboriginal and community bodies and statutory authorities.

Ariadne has developed significant capability and experience in respect to the environmental, social and cultural considerations associated with developments in sensitive environments. Ariadne understands its responsibility to preserve and embrace the Australian water-based lifestyle that is an intrinsic focus of these coastal communities. Ariadne manages this responsibility through a careful and considered planning approach, involving a high level of community involvement in the master planning phase.
